Jonathan Stewart struggles against Falcons

by

Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey finished with a career-high 15 carries in Sunday's 20-17 win against the Falcons and Jonathan Stewart's performance had a lot to do with that. Stewart came into the game with just one fumble in 110 carries this season but he lost two fumbles on consecutive possessions in the first quarter, including one just outside the red zone that cost the Panthers the chance to score seven more points.

Stewart has been in the NFL 10 years and he had lost just 13 fumbles in his career (just a little over one per season) before Sunday. He had never lost two fumbles in the same game before but luckily for him the rest of the offense stepped up to help the Panthers come from behind to beat the Falcons. I expect Stewart to get back on track, proving that Sunday's performance was a rare occurence.
